Frequently Asked Questions:

What is an impromanga? An impromanga is a cross somewhere between a chain story and a regular webcomic. Before the comic starts, people send in characters, and these will be posted on the site. People register to become artists, and will have a two week block to draw as many pages as they can. They can take the story in any direction they want, and when their two weeks are up, the next person picks up where they left off. Don't let the name confuse you. Artists are allowed to use any art style in their pages.

Tell me about this impromanga. This is the second impromanga run on Drifting Dreams. The first one has been dead for many years, but it was a lot of fun. This impromanga will be set in a light fantasy setting, but as you can see, we're still in the setting up stages. More information will be available as characters get submitted, and the story starts.

Must I use the characters provided? The characters provided must take the central role of the story. Of course, there can be minor characters, but they must not drag away the focus of the provided characters.

What is the limit of vulgar language/violence/sexual content? It's hard to place an exact limit on this content. What may be acceptable to one artist, or one reader may be too much for another. It'd be wrong to censor this completely, so artists are allowed to drop the occasional swear, draw blood and other violence, as well as light romance. However, excessive use will be dealt with on a case by case basis.

I want to submit a character. How do I do this? Please go to the 'Character' section of the website. All the information you'll need will be found there.

I want to be an artist for the story. How is it done, and how do I sign up? Artists can sign up after character submissions have closed. I'll update the roster two at a time, and each artist will have two weeks to draw their pages. Artists will be selected on a first come, first served basis, and unless there are shortages, can not be selected again. If you want to be reminded when artist slots are opening, please email me at impromanga@drifting-dreams.com, with 'artist reminder' in the subject line, and I'll send you reminder emails.

We only take two artists at a time, because people are more likely to know when things can get in the way of their art - such as exams or work commitments. However, if something sudden does pop up, let me know as soon as you can, and we'll work it out.

When your two weeks are up, please email me your pages. If I don't receive them, I'll email you. If after 4 days, unfortunately, to keep the comic moving, we'll have to skip your pages and move onto the next artist. Remember, if you are busy and are unable to complete any pages, to let me know before your due date. We may be able to reschedule your turn, or extend your due date.

Who runs this page, and how can I get in contact with you? My name is Claire, and I run this comic. You can get in contact with me by emailing impromanga@drifting-dreams.com, or messaging me in the forum.
